RFD Alert

Terms of Service

Last updated: July 26, 2026.

Best-effort service; no guarantee of delivery

RFD Alert is a best-effort notification service. Alerts are sent by SMS text message over cellular networks and third-party carriers and messaging providers we don't control. Texts may be delayed, arrive out of order, or fail to arrive entirely, and we do not guarantee that every mailbox event will produce an alert. Do not rely on RFD Alert as your only means of monitoring anything important.

No warranty

The service and equipment are provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including any warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. Sensors, batteries, and cellular coverage can fail or degrade over time, and we do not warrant uninterrupted or error-free operation.

Installation and mailbox modification

A complete installation requires drilling one or more holes in your mailbox enclosure to mount the sensor and controller. You are solely responsible for confirming that you are permitted to modify your mailbox, including compliance with any applicable USPS regulations, HOA covenants, municipal ordinances, or landlord requirements, and for the condition of your mailbox after installation, including any damage arising from drilling or mounting the equipment.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from a delayed, inaccurate, or missing alert, from equipment failure, or from installation. Our total liability for any claim arising out of or relating to the service is limited to the amounts you paid us in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.

SMS consent

By opting in, you agree to receive automated SMS text alerts and account messages from RFD Alert at the phone number you provide. Message frequency varies with your mailbox activity; message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to cancel or HELP for help once service is active.

Assumption of risk

You acknowledge that mailbox monitoring by SMS alert carries inherent risk of missed, delayed, or inaccurate notifications, and that you assume that risk by using the service.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Tennessee, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles.
